Aiming the revolution in Bangladeshi music and to stop piracy, Bangladesh’s largest telecom operator Grameenphone launched GP Music, a digital music store, at the Westin Dhaka on July 7.
With one lakh Bangla songs, GP Music started its journey and by the end of this year it will host one million Bangla songs.
Grameenphone CMO Yasir Azman said, “GP Music is a new beginning. We hope that all the artistes and our valued listeners will stand beside us in this initiative. We believe that, the affordable prices of GP Music tracks will drastically bring down piracy.”
GP also launched the 15 Eid exclusive albums by popular artistesAt the ceremony. These music will be exclusively available only on GP Music. The releases are – AyubBachchu’s solo album “Jiboner Golpo”, “Azam Khan Golden Collections”, Mila’s “Uncensored”, Asif Iqbal’s mixed albums “CholoOntoheen” Topu’s “Dekha Hobe Boley”, , Tausif’s “Ayojon”, Kanak Chapa’s “Padma Pukur” Miles’s “Protichchobi”, Feedback’s “Ekhon”, and “Ami ChuyeDilei”. Enamul Karim Nirjhor’s mixed album compilation “EkNirjhorerGaaan”, Shuvro Deb’s “Golden Collections” and Alauddin Ali’s “Golden Collections” will be there as well.

An android app will be available on Google Play store. Allkinds of Bangla music like, classic, contemporary or exclusive releases will be available here.
Leading artistes and band groups including Ayub Bacchu, Andrew Kishore, Hamin Ahmed, Kanak Chapa, FahmidaNabi, Shafin Ahmed, BappaMazumder, Mehreen, Feedback, Miles, Topu and Asif Iqbal attended the ceremony.

Shafin Ahmed said, “Starting from 1982 till date, I have seen many ups and downs in the music industry. It is the artistes who have always been deprived. Now that the situation is changing, we are releasing our album from GP Music.”
