After a successful launch event of the exhibition
“NEXT DHAKA: NEW VISIONS OF THE CITY”
organized by Bengal Institute on October 15 at Bengal Art Lounge, 60 Gulshan Avenue, they are opening the exhibition to the public. Considering that Dhaka demands new architectural and urban imagination to face the challenge of being the toughest city in the world, Bengal Institute is dedicated to rethinking the urban future of Bangladesh, Bengal Institute for Architecture, Landscapes and Settlements is involved in investigating and producing alternative visions for a better, livable and brighter Dhaka.To demonstrate how Dhaka can be transformed into a city of civic, social and ecological well-being, Bengal Institute will present an exhibition of its visions for two critical areas: Buriganga Riverbank and Gulshan-Kawran Bazar Civic Corridor. They are inviting everyone to visit the exhibition and experience the visions for the future they have articulated through images, drawings, models and animations.
For the launch event on October 15, the Honorable Finance Minister of the Government of Bangladesh, Mr Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, was present as the Chief Guest. Honorable Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation Mr Annisul Huq, Honorable Mayor of Dhaka South Corporation Mr Mohammad Sayeed Khokon, and Honorable State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Mr Nasrul Hamid were present as Special Guests. Mr Abul Khair, Chairman, Bengal Foundation and Chairman, Executive Board, Bengal Institute for Architecture, Landscapes and Settlements presided over the event.
The exhibition will be open for anyone to visit from November 1st to November 20th at the Bengal Art Lounge, Gulshan-1, from 15:00 to 20:00 everyday.
