Our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is one of the most powerful ladies in the world. She has developed the security of Bangladesh. More and more her Government is trying to develop in this sector and expenses are increasing day by day under her leadership. In 2009-10 economical year it was 16,706 cores BDT but in this year (2015-16) it is approximate 22,750 cores BDT. Her Government has taken many social protecting projects and initiatives like old age allowance, divorce helpless allowance, allowance for the lame and autistic people. She is giving allowance for the pregnant women in their pregnancy period; poor Freedom Fighter to survive with honor. The Government is also giving subsidies for selling daily commodities and providing VGD, VGF and Test Relief card for the common people. Bangladesh is developing gradually in every index under the leadership of our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Now the number of Widow and Divorce allowance taker are 9, 20,000. Her Government is providing allowances for the Autistic people and the number is increased from 2 lac to 2 lac 86 thousand. The Government has taken a project Assrayan-2 for 50000 landless people to give them shelter as their initiative for those who are destroyed in Sidr and Aila. They have started an Autism research Centre and a school where they have not to pay their fees. In BCS Bangladesh Government is giving extra 1% quota facilities for Autistic people and 10% quota for Orphans in 3rd and 4th class government job. One house and one farm are spread all over the country. Through this project in 923 Union 10, 38,000 family are now in a sustainable position. For getting all Global facilities Bangladesh has developed in IT sector under Sheikh Hasina’s leadership. Now we are dreaming the dream that before 2021 we will set up Digital Bangladesh and this possibility is very high. Bangladesh Awami League gets the support from the young voters and they get huge mended to organize their Government and Sheikh Hasina gets the chance to digitalize Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina does not waste his time. She devotes herself for building new Bangladesh and as a result we get Digital Bangladesh. We see a radical change in our country that no one thought before. Our honorable Prime Minister said in her speech that she had learnt computer from his son Sajib Wazed Joy and the word Digital first from him. Now the day is no longer far that we will achieve our destination. Recently in Bangladesh there has been 1 Lac Wi-Fi zone. Through this Wi-Fi zone Bangladesh is getting advanced forth. Rural people is using internet through this Wi-Fi connection. They are being served in many sectors mostly in Agriculture. They get many advices, information and Agricultural materials news through this media. Teachers and students are using this for the development of their education. Previously we have a problem in tendering but it is now very easy and clear system for the blessings of internet. Through internet anyone can bid from anywhere. For developing IT in Bangladesh many young people has got the opportunity to earn a lot without any official job. Many of our youth are earning from outsourcing. Now our Internet users are about 35 million. In 58 districts they have distributed Digital Telephone at 178 Upazila and at 42 Growth Centre. At our Three Hill District at 20 Upazila they have established Digital Exchange. They are giving Bangabandhu Fellowship, ICT Fellowship and many subsidies for researching at Science and Technology.
In the decade since 2004, Bangladesh averaged a GDP growth of 6.5% that has been largely driven by its exports of ready-made garments, remittances and the domestic agricultural sector. The country has pursued export-oriented industrialization; with its key export sectors include textiles, shipbuilding, fish and seafood, jute and leather goods. It has also developed self-sufficient industries in pharmaceuticals, steel and food processing. Bangladesh’s telecommunication industry has witnessed rapid growth over the years, receiving high investment from foreign companies. Bangladesh also has substantial reserves of natural gas and is Asia’s seventh largest gas producer. Offshore exploration activities are increasing in its maritime territory in the Bay of Bengal. It also has large deposits of limestone. The government promotes the Digital Bangladesh scheme as part of its efforts to develop the country’s growing information technology sector. In 2016, per-capita income was estimated as per IMF data at US$3,840 (PPP) and US$1,386 (Nominal). Bangladesh is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the World Trade Organization and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. The economy faces challenges of infrastructure bottlenecks, insufficient power and gas supplies, bureaucratic corruption, political instability, natural calamities and a lack of skilled workers.
More over Sheikh Hasina Government has created a developed environment at our Eight EPZ and for these reason our investment, employment and export has increased rapidly. They have taken an initiative to establish at least one EPZ in every District. Al ready Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has declared Sirajgonj, Mongla, Anwara, Mirsarai and Moulabhibazar as an Economy Zone. She has established 40266 small scale industries and Cottage industries and financed. Many people are working there and surviving. Government has also developed in their City Corporation proportionately at Dhaka North and South City, Narayangonj, Comilla and Rangpur City Corporation and structured newly more 16 Pourashabha.
For developing in such index she is very renowned to the world leaders. The Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, has been announced as one of the winners of the United Nations’ highest environmental accolade, in recognition of Bangladesh’s far-reaching initiatives to address climate change. The Champions of the Earth award in the Policy Leadership category, which the Prime Minister has accepted at a ceremony in New York 27 September 2015, recognizes Bangladesh’s first-off-the-block initiatives under Prime Minister Hasina’s government to prepare the ecologically fragile country for the challenges it faces from climate change. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been conferred with the “Agent of Change” award and “Planet 50-50 Champion” honor for her outstanding contributions to women empowerment. The UN Women recognized the PM as Planet 50-50 Champion, while the Global Partnership Forum honored her with the award at a reception at the UN headquarters.
From 1997, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been awarded for several times. Among all Planet 50-50 Champion award is the most significant for her. We all Bangladeshi are proud of her.
