Emdad Hoque, born in November 26th, 1968 in a very noble family in Old Dhaka. Apart from his regular study he grew up with color & design and started a career as a journalist from his early stage, and the result of his aggressive interests in this ground. He joined BRAC silk development project just after his post-graduation in the field of Marketing from Dhaka University and because of his instructive background he probably manages his intuitions with a more practical way to be the top in the design.

He realized that the development of the traditional handloom in the country needs more attention and his experience can enrich this sector not only in the country but can be in style internationally. And that actually influenced him to join handloom project of Grameen Bank and that was the beginning and he never looked back.

He loves to play with fabric and its texture, his dreams come true with perfect use of colors and he knows very well how to present it with modern fashion and looks.

He participated in fashion week of Karachi, Colombo, and Nepal with his handloom and hand Katha’s collection named a touch of handloom. Also introduced his line up at Madrid on 2006. He expertise to make Bridal lineup and costume for events and arrange fashion show very specially.

He believes that his design is not only a design; it represents the personality and the hope of the million weavers in Bangladesh. Emdad Hoque formed “Banglar Mela” and he introduces his own studio by his signature brand. This year he started his fashion School “Fashion Pathshala”. He is also vice-chairman of fashion design council of Bangladesh.
